Abala Gopalam

An initiative to enable today’s children to appreciate the spirit behind Indian Festivals like Sri Krishna Janmashtami, Govardhan Puja etc. Hare Krishna Movement, Hyderabad conducts these festivals in respective schools every year during Sri Krishna Janmashtami and Deepavali. Celebrating such festivals in school campus among their peers imparts enthusiasm in the children. This helps them to appreciate the significance of these festivals and carry forward the legacy of Indian festivals to the next generation.



Culture Camp

Conducted during summer vacations, the Culture Camp provides a refreshing break to the school children from 6 to 16 years. This camp offers systematic training in various art forms whilst equipping children with essential life skills. The camp is conducted for 21 days.

The children can choose any of the modules like Art & Craft, Dance Drama and Drama depending on their interest and hone their skills under the guidance of qualified professionals. Effective use of Audio-Visuals to inculcate the essential values in children has gained very good response from the parents.

The children are infused with good habits like waking up early in the morning, respecting elders and teachers, obeying the parents and teachers etc. They also learn moral values by going through the life of Vedic Personalities like Prahalad maharaj and Bali Maharaj.



Dasara Camp

A refreshing break to the children during Dasara Vacation. This camp offers systematic training in various art forms whilst equipping the children with essential life skills. Modules on Painting, Drama, Arts & Crafts are included in this 10 days long camp. Special features of this camp include the effective use of Audio-Visual aids and imparting value education through role plays, group discussions and games.



Goloka Shades

To encourage healthy competitive spirit, harness creative talents and prepare today’s children for a professional career in arts in their future, a state level colouring competition is conducted by Hare Krishna Movement Hyderabad for LKG to 10th standard children, in association with ISKCON Bangalore. The contest is conducted in selected schools in Hyderabad. The children who enrol for this contest appear for an examination the month of November or December. They are provided with a sheet with an outline of a scene from Vedic history. The children fill appropriate colours.



Heritage Fest

Krishna Kids

A Traditional Fancy Dress Contest for children of age 2 to 6 years. This contest is conducted on the day of Sri Krishna Janmashtami, the appearance day of Lord Sri Krishna. This contest aims at introducing Vedic/Puranic characters to today’s children thereby to imbibe Indian values in them and help them appreciate the Vedic/Puranic characters.



Rasa Fest

An Inter-collegiate competition based on Indian art and culture. This festival is conducted in the month of Jan/Feb for 5 days. The college students are given an opportunity to showcase their talents and creativity in Indian Heritage based contests like Vocal Music, Flower Arrangements, Classical Dance, Photography, Gita poster collage, Painting, Pencil shading & Sketching, Cookery and Rangoli.



Sri Krishna Contest

To enrich children’s perception of life with noble and desirable qualities, Hare Krishna Movement

Hyderabad, in association with ISKCON Bangalore conducts Sri Krishna Contest for 5th to 10th standard children. The contest is conducted in selected school in Hyderabad. Books depicting the life of great people from Vedic History are given to children. The children who enroll for this exam appear for an objective exam in the month of November or December.

School toppers are given mementoes and medals in a Prize Distribution Ceremony.



Value Plus

A value based entrepreneurship program which aims to impart essential social, moral and spiritual values in children. It trains the children in character building, personality development, meditation, story-telling, music and sloka recitation. Thus, this program helps them to become intelligent and responsible leaders of family, the country and the world in the future.



Vatsalya

Indian Culture based contests especially for the women. This festival is conducted during the month of ___ for ___ days, every year. Women of various age groups enthusiastically participate in contests like painting, vocal music, dance, drama, rangoli, flower arrangement and various other contests and display their inherent abilities and skills in front of the audience.
